Gabapentin (Neurontin)

Bindet an Kalziumkanäle (α2δ-Untereinheit) und reduziert exzitatorische Neurotransmitterfreisetzung. Wirkt antikonvulsiv und analgetisch bei neuropathischen Schmerzen. Kein Einfluss auf GABA trotz des Namens.

Anwendungsgebiete

• Neuropathic pain (postherpetic neuralgia, diabetic neuropathy)
• Epilepsy (adjunct for focal seizures)
• Restless legs syndrome
• Fibromyalgia (off-label)

Natürliche Alternative

Alphalipon Säure (ALA, 600 mg/Tag) klinisch gut belegt bei diabetischer Neuropathie. Capsaicin-Pflaster topisch wirksam. Für Epilepsie kein gleichwertiger pflanzlicher Ersatz.
